The remodeling project, funded through KHETFUND's strategic health infrastructure development initiative, is aimed at strengthening pharmaceutical quality assurance systems in Kano State. The new laboratory is designed to conduct advanced quality control testing on drugs and medical consumables distributed across the state's healthcare facilities.

During the visit, the KHETFUND delegation, led by the Executive Secretary Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen was received by the management of DMCSA, who conducted a comprehensive tour of the remodeled facility. The team inspected the structural modifications and adherence to pharmaceutical quality standards.

The Executive Secretary, who was represented by the Director Operations Dr. Muhammad Lawan commended DMCSA for the successful execution of the project, emphasizing the significance of ensuring that drugs supplied to the public are safe, effective, and of high quality.

“This project represents a major milestone in our collective effort to safeguard public health in Kano State. A functional and well-equipped quality control laboratory is a crucial component of a resilient drug supply system. KHETFUND is proud to have supported this transformation,” Dr. Zahraddeen said.

In his remarks, the Director-General of DMCSA, Pharm. Gali Sule expressed appreciation to KHETFUND for its continuous support and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to maintaining the facility in line with national and international best practices.
