KSSSSMB Commences Selling of Job Application Forms

Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board has announced the commencement of selling of forms for the recruitment into teaching and non-teaching positions.

Malam Usman Datti Abdullah, Public Relations Officer of the Board disclosed this Monday in a brief announcement made available to PARAMOUNT REPORTERS .

The announcement reads:

Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board wishes to inform the general public that sales of employment forms for teaching and non-teaching staff have commenced.

Interested applicants are invited to purchase the employment forms. Please note that eligibility criteria and requirements will be clearly stated on the application form.

The forms are available for purchase at the Board Headquarters, Accounts Section.

The Board extends its best wishes to all applicants for a successful application process.

Buk to hold 4th international conference on doctoral colloquium

The Bayero University Kano to hold international conference on doctoral colloquium to grapple with uncertainties driven by inflation.

The theme of the conference titled: “Management for Sustainable Development in Times of Economic Uncertainties: Issues, Perspectives, and Challenges,” 

Speaking at the press briefing, the  Dean, Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences of BUK, Prof. Muhammad Isa said this year's conference is particularly timely as global economies continue to grapple with uncertainties driven by inflation, geopolitical tensions, digital disruptions, and evolving financial landscapes. 

He said this will serve as a platform for thought leaders, policymakers, academics, and industry professionals to engage in insightful discussions on sustainable economic models.

"Financial resilience, innovative management practices that can enhance economic stability and inclusive growth.

"This is the  fourth International Conference and Doctoral Colloquium to

provide a platform for intellectual discourse on strategic management approaches for sustainable development amid economic uncertainties",he said.

Isa further explained that this will address contemporary economic and financial challenges, exploring innovative solutions for resilience and stability.

He added that this will examine role of risk management, governance reforms, and financial strategies in mitigating economic shocks.

Kano Schools Management Board Committed to Uplift Secondary Education

The Executive Secretary of Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSMB) Rabiu Sale Gwarzo has reaffirmed the state government's unwavering commitment to promoting exceptional educational standards in secondary schools education.

Speaking when he convened the inaugural meeting with the twenty three zonal directors, the Executive Secretary discussed the current status of schools within the state, aimed at assessing the progress, challenges, and future prospects of secondary education in Kano State.

During the meeting, the Executive Secretary and zonal directors engaged in a comprehensive review of the schools' performance, focusing on key areas such as academic achievements, infrastructure development, among other issues that need prompt intervention. The discussion also touched on strategies for improving the overall quality of education in the state.

The ES emphasized the state government's commitment to providing access to quality education for all students, regardless of their background or socio-economic status, adding that the declaration of State of Emergency on education is a critical step towards achieving this goal.

Honorable Rabiu Gwarzo also highlighted some of the notable achievements recorded by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, demonstrating a clear vision for education standards in Kano State, calling for effective utilization of 

government education initiatives to achieve the desired outcome.

He noted that the Board is committed

to foster a collaborative environment among staff to build on these achievements and ensure quality education for the development of the state.

Nigerian Army donates classrooms to Kano community

The Nigerian Army has donated four-block of classroom to the Datti Ahmad Government Secondary School, Wurure in Gwale Local Government Area of Kano State.

The army also rehabilitated an office block and provided 216 classroom furniture to the school under the Chief of Army Staff COAS) Special Intervention Programme.

The COAS, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, stated this during the formal handing-over of the remodelled classrooms on Saturday in Kano.

He said the gesture would strengthen civil-military relations and enhance access to quality education in the state.

Represented by Maj.-Gen. Nosakhare Ugbo, the Army Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Lagbaja said the project was designed to support communities of serving senior officers of the army, who rose to the rank of Major Generals through dedication in serving the nation.

According to Lagbaja, the gesture will further improve academic atmosphere and better learning, adding that, “the initiative is to eradicate insecurity and boost morale of Nigerian Army personnel within communities and promote quality education”.

He lauded President Bola Tinubu for the confidence reposed in the Nigerian Army and the Armed Forces of Nigeria, and pledged loyalty to the president.

Earlier, the project facilitator, Maj.-Gen. Sani Bashir, said the choice of the school for the Army Chief Special Intervention was predicated on overarching need to provide a conducive learning environment for the youths.

Bashir, who is the Chief of Defense Communication, said that: “It is hoped that the infrastructure provided in my community will serve as an impetus for the teachers and stimulate interest of the students to develop their intellectual capacity for national development.

“It is pertinent to stress that the Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Project is a Nigerian Army Corporate Social Responsibility initiative in supporting Kano State Government’s effort at developing the educational sector”.

Also speaking, the Commander, 26 Armoured Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Teminere Mackintosh, lauded the COAS for funding the project and giving back to Nigerians.
