Mas'ud Saleh Emerged As New Chairman of Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB)

Following from the 4th Quarter 2024 Congress Meeting held on Saturday, 28th December 2024, the Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) Kano State Chapter, has elected Bldr. Mas'ud Lado Saleh, MNIOB, Director Planning, Ministry for Public Procurement Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Kano As new Chairman.

The Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) is the professional body for builders and those who are about to be engaged in the Building Profession.

According to a press statement issued by.Sagir Abubakar Ado, Bldr. Mas'ud Lado Saleh, MNIOB and other Executive Committee members were duly elected to pilot the affairs of the NIOB, Kano State Chapter for the Period of 2024-2026.

In his acceptance Speech, the Newly Elected Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Building, Kano State Chapter said that he is deeply honored and profoundly grateful for the trust the members bestowed upon him to chair the activities of the institute in Kano state.

 “As the newly elected Chairman of the Kano State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Building, this moment is not just a personal achievement but also a collective victory for all of us who are committed to advance the building profession in our great state and the nation in general.”

“First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the outgoing chairman and the previous executive committee for their dedication and hard work. Your leadership has laid a solid foundation upon which we will build. I also want to thank all the members who participated in the electoral process, demonstrating the democratic spirit that is vital to our organization.”

”As I take on this significant responsibility, I am acutely aware of the challenges that lie ahead. The building industry in Nigeria faces numerous hurdles, from regulatory issues to the need for sustainable practices and the integration of modern technologies. However, I firmly believe that with unity, collaboration, and a shared vision, we can overcome these challenges and elevate our profession to new heights.”

Bldr. Mas'ud Lado Saleh assured inclusivity, innovation, and excellence as his vision for the Kano State Chapter during his tenure in office. He then committed to focus on the following:

1. Professional Development: We will organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance our skills and knowledge, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of industry standards and practices.

2. Advocacy and Policy Engagement: We will actively engage with government bodies and stakeholders to advocate for policies that support the building profession and address the pressing issues we face.

3. Sustainability: We will promote sustainable building practices that not only meet the needs of today but also preserve our environment for future generations.

4. Networking and Collaboration: We will create more opportunities for networking among members, fostering partnerships that can lead to innovative projects and initiatives.

5. Community Engagement: We will extend our reach beyond our professional circles, engaging with our communities to promote the importance of quality building practices and contribute to the development of our society.
