Kano DMCSA Donates Drugs Worth ₦1.5 Million to KASSOSA

As part of its continuous efforts and ongoing commitment to supporting healthcare and educational development in the state, the Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) has donated drugs and other medical supplies valued at ₦1.5 million to the Kano Science Schools Old Students’ Association (KASSOSA) national body.

The gesture is aimed to strengthen the healthcare delivery system within Kano’s science secondary schools and support KASSOSA’s ongoing health outreach programs among students, so as to ensure improved health and well-being for the future leaders of the state.

Speaking during the symbolic donation ceremony, which brought together the DMCSA management staff and KASSOSA national executives, the Director General of DMCSA, Pharm. Gali Sule emphasized that the donation aligns with the Agency’s mandate to ensure the availability of safe, quality, and affordable drugs and medical consumables across all public institutions in the state.

"Our mission is to guarantee the continuous availability of drugs and medical consumables at affordable prices through transparent and efficient systems," the DG observed.

He further noted that the donation underscores DMCSA’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community partnership, reinforcing the Agency’s role in improving public health and supporting human capital development across the state.

“Our support to KASSOSA demonstrates our shared vision for a healthier and more productive learning environment for our students. We believe that investing in the health of students is an investment in the future of Kano State. We also recognize the vital role that old students’ associations play in complementing government efforts, and we are proud to partner with KASSOSA in this initiative,” the Director General stated.

According to him, the donation to KASSOSA, which is third of its kind, demonstrates the Kano State Government’s ongoing effort to promote health and education synergy, ensuring that students in the state’s science schools are not only intellectually empowered but also physically healthy to pursue their academic goals.

Pharm. Gali Sule, who was the immediate past National President of KASSOSA, commended the current leadership of the association for their continued commitment to supporting science education and promoting community development.


Receiving the donation on behalf of KASSOSA, the National President, Balarabe Nuhu Jallah, expressed deep gratitude to DMCSA for the generous support, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. He assured that the items would be distributed judiciously to the various science schools to strengthen their clinic facilities and promote student welfare.

“This donation will go a long way in improving healthcare delivery within the schools. We thank the Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the State Ministry of Health, headed by its Commissioner Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, and the DMCSA for their continued partnership and for recognizing the importance of education-linked health support.We look forward to more collaborations that will benefit education and health in Kano State,” the KASSOSA President said.

The donated items include a wide range of essential medicines, first-aid materials, and medical consumables to be distributed across various science secondary schools under KASSOSA’s supervision.

The Kano State Drugs and Medical Consumables Supply Agency (DMCSA) is a government agency responsible for the procurement, storage, and distribution of qualitative drugs and medical consumables to health facilities across Kano State. The Agency is dedicated to ensuring efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in the state’s drug supply chain.

The Kano Science Schools Old Students’ Association (KASSOSA), on the hand, is an alumni body comprising graduates of Kano Science Colleges. The association is dedicated to fostering educational excellence through mentoring young students, supporting development initiatives that enhance learning environments, and the overall development of Kano State.
