In line with its commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and technological advancement in healthcare administration, a delegation from the Kano State Health Trust Fund (#KHETFUND) conducted a formal post-funding verification visit to the Kano State Agency for the Control of AIDS (#KSACA).
The monitoring exercise follows KHETFUND’s strategic financial release on November 14, 2025, which provided ₦1,343,000.00 to KSACA under the fund's 2026 Regular Intervention cycle. The fund was specifically approved for the procurement and installation of a high-speed Starlink satellite internet network to optimize data management and streamline the agency's state-wide healthcare response.
The verification team, led on behalf of the Executive Secretary of KHETFUND, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen, by the Director of Operations, Dr. Muhammad Lawan Adamu, thoroughly assessed the newly deployed network infrastructure. The team evaluated the installation quality, system functionality, and the immediate impact of the high-speed connectivity on the agency's daily operations.
Speaking during the verification exercise, held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Dr. Muhammad Lawan Adamu emphasized that robust digital infrastructure is the backbone of modern public health administration. He reiterated the Executive Secretary’s resolve to ensure that all KHETFUND interventions are utilized strictly for their intended purposes to deliver maximum value to the people of Kano State.
Receiving the delegation, the Director General of KSACA, Dr. Usman Bashir, commended KHETFUND for its unwavering support and underscored the transformative impact of the new satellite network.
"The timely deployment of this Starlink network infrastructure, made possible by KHETFUND, marks a paradigm shift in our operational capabilities at KSACA. In the critical field of HIV/AIDS control, real-time data collection, rapid reporting, and uninterrupted communication with our field clinics and international partners are absolutely vital. This high-speed connectivity eliminates previous communication bottlenecks, drastically improving our efficiency. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen and her team for their visionary support."
