Following a ₦11,720,000 capital injection disbursed earlier this month, the Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) delegation visited Sheikh Muhammad Jidda General Hospital to assess the procurement and deployment of specialized physiotherapy equipment aimed at bolstering rehabilitation care in the state.

The post-funding verification exercise follows the initial release of funds on July 8, 2026. The grant was designated specifically to equip the hospital’s physiotherapy department with modern devices to support post-surgical recovery, trauma therapy, and mobility rehabilitation.

During the assessment, the team inspected the newly installed devices, verified compliance with procurement standards, and evaluated operational readiness.

Speaking, the Executive Secretary of KHETFUND Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen highlighted the critical role of post-funding assessments in guaranteeing value for money and maintaining high standards across state-supported medical facilities.

"Our mandate extends beyond funding allocation; we are dedicated to ensuring that every naira disbursed translates into tangible improvements in healthcare delivery for the people of Kano State," the Executive Secretary, who was represented by the Director Special Duties, Hamisu Abubakar, stated. "The procurement of these modern physiotherapy units at Sheikh Muhammad Jidda General Hospital will drastically reduce the waiting time for physical rehabilitation and offer crucial support to patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and mobility-limiting conditions."

The Zonal Director of Sheikh Muhammad Jidda General Hospital Dr. Fatima Ibrahim Hamza, expressed profound gratitude to KHETFUND and the Kano State Government, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the timely intervention, assuring the visiting delegation that the equipment would be properly maintained and effectively utilized to serve patients in need.

KHETFUND remains steadfast in its mission to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, support public health institutions, and ensure accessible, quality healthcare services across all local government areas in Kano State.
